We are pleased to welcome Lara Johnson to our growing team in the role of National Sales Manager, a position created as a result of the company’s growth and expansion in recent years. Lara takes over responsibility for our UK customer base, using her extensive experience in a range of analytical techniques to support new and existing customers across the country. She succeeds Paul Stubbings who is now Commercial Manager with additional responsibility for supporting our industry partners and export markets.

Lara joins us with a strong background in analytical chemistry. After graduating from the University of Kent with a BSc in forensic science, she embarked on a laboratory career in hair testing and the analysis of alcohol and drugs of abuse, acquiring considerable experience in numerous analytical techniques. She then joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as a technical specialist for chromatography consumables, before moving to the life sciences division of water technology provider Xylem. A change of career beckoned when Lara decided to make the move to sales, joining the team at Shimadzu as the southeast area sales specialist for analytical instrumentation. The need for high quality, exceptional purity solvents for analytical instruments led to the development of a close relationship with ROMIL, jointly attending events and visiting customer sites. With her interest in solvents piqued, Lara was delighted to accept the role of National Sales Manager at ROMIL in November 2024, a move that sees her take on countrywide, rather than regional, responsibilities.

Lara comments: “I’m delighted to take on this new role at ROMIL, using my background in various analytical techniques to help support existing customers while working to grow the customer base across the country. It’s a big change from managing a specific area to covering the whole country, but also an exciting challenge. In my previous role, I found customers were very receptive to ROMIL solvents, as it made sense for them to work with a UK manufacturer with a reputation for high quality and quick delivery. I’m looking forward to developing relationships with both current customers and those joining us in the future, working with them to achieve their goals.”
